Biokinetic Study of Microbial Decontamination of Oilfield Produced Water

This work was aimed at identifying microbials and determining the biokinetic parameters for bio-decontamination of oilfield produced water. An extant physical treatment unit water re-engineered retrofit with a discontinuous aerobic bioreactor (Bio-Unit) system. The Bio-Unit operated in fill-and-draw sequence rates total organic carbon (TOC) removal biomass growth were monitored. isolated microbial strains identified as Bacillus, Pseudomonas Chryseobacterium spp. bio-detoxification process determined by fitting experimental data into Monod Equation. maximum specific substrate utilization rate (k_m), (μ(m,h )), half saturation coefficient (K(STOC yield (Y), endogenous decay (b_h), found to be 0.20 day-1, 0.31 2.7 mg TOC/l, 1.6 MLSS/mg TOC, 0.23 respectively. These values are within range published literatures water, thus will suffice designing, modeling control biological systems, since real using configuration is scanty.
